Uziel
Cobb County teen Uziel was diagnosed with hearing loss at 6 years old and his father has been unable to afford the cost of personal hearing aids for his son. Utilizing school hearing aids during the day, Uziel was making great progress at school, worked hard and was a kind and compassionate young man. Outside of school, he was relying on facial clues and lip reading, which limited his communication and understanding while even speaking to his father. It was difficult for Uziel's father to know that even though he was extremely hard working himself, because of the lack of affordable health insurance, he couldn't provide his son with what he needed to ensure he continued to excel in life. JCCF is happy to report that Uziel now has full-time, personal hearing aids and he continues on his path of personal and academic success!
